Studies said that the number one cause of truck accidents is driver distraction. Fatal distractions can lead any person or driver to an accident includes texting while driving and using gadgets while driving. Laptops, cellphones, razors, etc., can make the drivers off-focus or less concentration on the road which can be a potential cause of  serious, or fatal road accident. To minimize this, most states in the United States banned the usage of cellphones while driving. But they provided an alternative when somebody is calling or receiving a very important call, that is using hands-free speaker or earphones connected to the phone, allowing the driver to go on with the conversation.

When a driver attempts to drive while under the influenced of an alcohol is another fatal road distraction. Anyone who has a BAC level of .08% is not allowed to drive. The results of driving while intoxicated include impaired driving, blur vision, drowsiness and loss of focus.

Tailgating is one of the most potential cause of accidents while driving. That is driving close to the other car’s tailgates. It is hard to recognize accidents or traffic signs ahead because the front car blocks from the view. Rubbernecking is also another potential cause of accident. That is when the driver slows down the speed and watch another happened accident on the road or sight-seeing on the unusual things on the highway. When a driver slows down the car very quickly, the car behind will oftentimes does not have enough time to slow itself down to compensate the abrupt change of speed of the car ahead. This causes another bumps and car wrecks, or if not fatal, serious accidents.

Any drivers’ behaviour causes accidents and others is still considered to be causes of failure of the engine or brake system. The best solution to this serious accidents is to focus, eyes on the road and to keep in mind that driving is a responsibility.
